What Type of Staff?

Of course the usually used staff would be wood. But are there other types? Yes! I’m not going to get into types of wood and wood magick at this point. There are a lot of botanical magic books out there for you. What I will share is that you whatever you use, make sure that it is sturdy enough to hold part of your weight without breaking and sturdy enough to drop. Yes, I know I already said that in the last post but it is essential that you know that you will drop your staff. You may also hit it against something and maybe get it caught in a tree or something else. So, sturdiness is the key here.

Another thing that I want you to know is that your staff is an extension of you. I think that you’ll want to use a material that will enhance your natural abilities. You may feel closer to one material than another. That’s your intuition connecting you with this one.

Wood staffs can be a large tree limb that you’ve decided to use. It may be a martial arts staff that you have sanctified, it can be one that someone else has carved and maybe it’s a walking stick.

There are metal staves out there as well. I have used a metal curtain rod where I’ve added crystals and herbs in to make it into what I wanted and then sanctified it. You may find that something like this works for you as well.

Another way to go may be to use PVC pipe that you decorate. This is an artificial material but you can crystals and herbs inside it if you want. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t use any type of material. This is your magic and if jt matters and connects with you, that is what matters.
