Washing before magick

Want to give you food for thought while you are preparing for magick. Everyone knows to cleanse beforehand -at least I think you do. Ring a bell, smoke cleanse, sprits holy water, holding a celenite wand over yourself, etc. However, have you thought about actually washing yourself first? Washing has been in use in many spiritual practices since the dawn of time. There are ancient Greek and Jewish temples with foot baths that you would use before you entered. There were and are temples and churches with water for washing before entering (also some have the holy water to put upon to sanctify your body before you entered). I’m not talking about the full bath ritual, which you may also want to think about. I am saying to consider washing your hands and feet before your spell. Your feet carry your full weight and may be considered one of the dirtiest parts of your body because they are usually washed least. (Okay, maybe not you, but I’m generalizing here haha) Your hands hold your day, week, month, year, lifetime. Spiritualy and, literally, washing them - or at least your hands before your spell can help you prepare for your work in a cleaner manner and can help because there is less grime (spiritually and literally) to get in the way. Just add a little salt to your hands while you put them under the water. You can have a special bowl for this if you want or just under the sink water. You can create spell words for yourself if you want. I usually just wash but an idea can be:

“As I wash away the grime, I wash away all negativity. Only clean thoughts, reactions, and positivity remain. So I say and so it is.” Just something that I haven’t seen spoken about a lot and so I thought I would bring it up.

Sending love and positive energy.
