Staff for Magical Defense and Protection

Maybe the very first thing we should do is choose our staff. There are, of course many choices. There is a staff that many wizard cosplayers use where there is a crystal of some sort at one end. There is a long stick that curved and crooked. There is a long walking stick with a decorated or carved end. There is, my favorite, a martial arts staff. I’ve seen staves that have ends that light on fire. Dancing staves where lights show up on one or both ends are put there as well. I have made one out of a curtain rod, where I’ve added herbs and crystals inside and then clued shut. What matters is that you feel a connection to your staff.

I have multiple staves, myself. I have the curtain rod that I just mentioned and I also have two different martial arts staves that I use in magick. I have one that has dragons carved on it. It is pretty cool. Then, there is my favorite one that is oak. I’ve had this one for years. I bought it originally for my martial arts program. I’ve added sparkly and reflective tape and stickers. I have added sparkly nail polish on the end because it helps protect the end. I have also spray painted the ends so they are reflective.
