Personal Symbol

I want to talk with y’all about your personal symbol. How to come up with it. Why you should have one, and how to use it. This is my training and my experience.

You don’t have to have one, of course, but I believe that it adds your personal power to the spell and also ties you more to YOUR spell. The universe and deities know specifically who cast the spell in a world of hundreds of millions of people. You add more and more power to the symbol each time you use it, thus adding more and more power to you as a magician.

A personal symbol is something attached specifically to you and no one else. It should be very simple and only a few strikes of it the pen, as they say. It may be your initials, but other people may have the same, so, I personally recommend going further or at least, saying your name as you use it each time. It could be a representation of a nickname, like ladybug or one with of your favorite things to use. But, remember that it should be easy for you to carve on a candle and add in a spell.

Say that your name is Kendra and you like butterflies. You can take the K and a symbol for butterflies and put them together. Another would be that your name is Larry and you like wands. See the pictures attached you can see the letter spoken about on the left then next one is the symbol, and the final idea on the right that combines the two. I’ve also included a photo of a chime candle with a personal symbol carved in it so that you can see what I’m telling you about. These are just ideas for you to use as you figure out your own.

You can carve these on even the smallest candles for your spells. You can use them when you are writing spells. They can be a type of signature as you sign “So mote it be” and then your symbol or in the middle of your spell work as you write it out completly. This symbol should be secret to you alone because it holds your power within it. It should be easy so that you remember it. It should be simple so that you can do it quickly and mark it very small as a thumbnail if possible. And, for those who love sigils, you can use it to top your sigils off too!

Using your personal symbol can take your magick to the next level as you find it personalizes your spells.
